Founded in 1987, Sung Shin New Material Co. specializes in footwear insoles and other footwear parts. Headquartered in Busan, the company has production facilities in Indonesia, Thailand, China and Vietnam. With a share of about 12% of the global midsole market, it supplies to global sports brands like NIKE, Adidas, Reebok and PUMA.
Using its decades of expertise in the field, the company developed the world’s first MDI (multi density injection) method to adhere the upper part of the shoes to the sole without any sort of gluing process, making premium medically comfortable shoes.
Applying such high technology, the company has recently come up with and marketed functional walking shoes under its own “Taw & Toe” brand.
The Taw & Toe Duflex Comfort Shoes received an award as the best product in BISS (Busan International Smart Shoes & Parts Fair) in 2009 and 2010 consecutively, as recognition for the outstanding performance and design.
Based on the MDI method and AAB (anatomic alignment bridge) system for enhancing stability of the wearer’s walking, the functional shoes feature flexibility, comfortable fitting, shockabsorbing, good ventilation and antibacterial (99%) qualities, keeping the wearer comfortable.
Currently, the Taw & Toe” brand offers flat shoes, sandals and slippers in addition to the walking shoes.
