Doosan Engine is a world-class supplier of lowspeed diesel engines, medium-speed diesel engines, diesel power plants and related parts both at home and abroad. The company specializes in manufacturing and supplying large, low-speed diesel engines to global markets such as China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Brazil, Denmark and Germany.
The large, low-speed 2-stroke engines are among the company’s export mainstays, comprising the largest portion of its exports. They are applicable to large ships such as container ships, bulk carriers, LNG ships, VLCCs (Very Large Crude Oil Carriers) and ULCCs (Ultra Large Crude Oil Carriers).
With such international certifications as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, the company signed technological agreements with MAN Diesel A/S of Denmark and Wartsila of Switzerland in 1983 and 1984, respectively. Since then, it has been concentrating on the production of large diesel engines ranged from L50MC to K98MEC and from RTA48T to RT-flex96C.
In 2005, the maker has caught intense global attention by successfully developing the world’s largest one (14RT-flex96C) in the field. It is currently making efforts to expand markets in Russia and Southeast Asia.
