Altibase specializes in developing data performance solutions that provide real-time access, analysis, and distribution of high volumes of data in mission-critical environments.
In 1999, Altibase developed a Main Memory DBMS (MMDBMS), a technology that telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and utility companies have been leveraging for their real-time data processing needs since it was first developed.
In 2005, Altibase released a hybrid DBMS which integrates a Main Memory DBMS with a Disk-Resident DBMS (DRDBMS) to handle large data volumes within a single DBMS while providing real-time data processing.
ALTIBASE HDB is a hybrid relational DBMS that delivers extreme speed while supporting large data sets. Disk-based databases can handle large volumes of data but cannot provide the speed that is now required by shrinking decision cycles and increasing complexity.
In-memory databases deliver data with extreme speed, but memory constraints limit dataset sizes. ALTIBASE HDB combines the benefits of both disk-based and in-memory data storage models in a single relational database.
This ensures high speed and availability, big data capabilities, low latency and very high transaction rates. In 2010, Altibase began expanding internationally with the establishment of Altibase, Inc. in Palo Alto, California.
Altibase has more than 300 customers within the telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, utilities and public sectors.
Key customers include South Korea Telecom, KT, China Mobile, China Telecom, SK Securities, Hyundai Securities, Woori Securities, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Korea Electric Power Co., numerous government agencies and the Korean military.
