iCel System Korea, which has since its foundation consistently devoted its efforts to developing energy storage systems
ranging from small to huge ones, based on lithium-ion batteries, has recently after years of researches and experience
acquired superior cell balancing technology that is essential for developing mass energy storage systems.
As a part of efforts to promote smart grids, the company has been actively strengthening partnerships with related
government agencies, utility companies, telecommunication companies and smart metering companies.
The system contributes to greening of the Earth and easing global warming through improving efficiency and reliability of power systems and promoting distributed generation.
DNES system, an acronym for ¡°Distributed & Networked Energy Storage¡± system, is the energy storage system based on
lithium-ion batteries, which is a type of rechargeable battery in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to the
positive electrode during discharge and has highly energy-dense and environmentally friendly features.
DNES system is small and light - 1MW DNES system only weighs one-eighth of 1MW NaS and it takes one-fifth of space that
1MW NaS takes.
The system is scalable up to several tens megawatts thanks to the company¡¯s own cell balancing technology which
improves efficiency, safety and life cycle.
Like LCD, alarm and management program for the DNES system is designed in a user-friendly way.
The company¡¯s four-fold safety application guarantees the safety of the DNES system.
Economic benefits from its application are contributing to the reduction of transmission capacity requirements and transmission congestion, electric service reliability, and electric power quality, etc.
The manufacturer¡¯s Wonderboy model is a compact-sized energy storage system designed for streetlight application,
powered by either solar generated energy or grid, while its Twins model is a portable recharger for the various kinds of
portable electronic devices, such as tablet PCs, smartphones, digital cameras, portable game machines, etc.
