Doosan Engine, a world-class supplier of low-speed diesel engines, medium-speed diesel engines, diesel power plants and related parts in both at home and abroad, currently still keeps its position as a specialist manufacturing and supplying large low-speed diesel engine in global markets of such as China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Brazil, Denmark and Germany.
The large low-speed 2-stroke engines are among the company’s export mainstays, commanding the main part of its export. They are applicable to large ships such as container ships, bulk carriers, LNG ships, VLCCs (Very Large Crude Oil Carriers) and ULCCs (Ultra Large Crude Oil Carriers).
With such international certifications as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, the company formed technological agreements with MAN Diesel A/S of Demark and Wartsila of Switzerland in 1983 and 1984, respectively. Since then, it is concentrating on the production of large diesel engines ranged from L50MC to K98ME-C and from RTA48T to RT-flex96C.
In 2005, the maker caught intense global attention by successfully developing the world’s largest one (14RT-flex96C) in the field. It is currently making efforts to expand markets in Russia and Southeast Asia.
