Over the past 30 years, KUKIL INNTOT CO., LTD. (www.kukil.com) has been
dedicated to manufacturing sealing products such as gasket and packing and coupling. Since it
was founded in 1982, the company has grown into a mid-sized sealing company with about 23
billion won in sales last year, proving its technical leadership in the market.
With such an outstanding achievement, KUKIL INNTOT, headed by Lee Jong-chul, won the
50th Trader of the Month award.
Behind the company’s rapid growth, there has been the hard work and passion of CEO Lee
Jong-chul for developing world-class products. When Mr. Lee came to learn that most of the
gasket and packing products used in petrochemical plants, power plants and shipbuilding
industry were imported, it gave him a challenge to attempt to localize gasket and packing
products in Korea.
Since he joined KUKIL as a founding member in 1982, he and the staff members exerted allout
efforts in developing products that will be considered to be the best in the world in the area of
sealing technology. Through such efforts, KUKIL has succeeded in commercializing applicationspecific
gaskets and packing such as metal gasket, Hiflex gasket, fresh water steel rubber gasket,
VOC packing and insulation kit, which now largely contribute to increase in revenue.
The traditional spiral wound gasket and DJAF gasket have many drawbacks such as ring loss
prior to installation, breakdown and lack of resilience after installation.
KUKIL’s Hiflex Gasket has been specially designed to remedy such shortcomings. And its
maximized sealing design got a utility model right. Hiflex Gasket is supplied to oil refining and
petrochemicals companies not only in the domestic market but also in overseas markets.
When the Hiflex Gasket is installed on flange of worn-out heat exchangers in oil refining or
petrochemicals, the gasket’s excellent resilience helps fix the problem with leakage caused by
flange deformation. And the all-in-one system has less risk of breakage.
With the excellent sealing performance, Hiflex Gasket is being supplied to country’s leading
oil refining and petrochemicals companies such as GS Caltex, Samsung Total, Hyundai Oil Bank,
SK Energy and Taekwang Industrial. Since it started to export, about $410,000 worth of Hiflex
Gasket have been shipped to Oman Refinery & Petrochemical Company and additional volumes
for maintenance will be exported soon.
The entire steel rubber gaskets for
fresh water that it produces are supplied
to fresh water PJT of Doosan Heavy
Industries. By using them, clients will be
able to cut down flange production costs.
