Exicon CEO Mr. Choi Myung-bae, won the 52nd Trader of the Month award for its
contribution to semiconductor test solution exports.
Exicon CEO Mr. Choi Myung-bae with marketing experience in the semiconductor division of
Samsung Electronics, dedicated his career to laying the foundation for the semiconductor industry in
Korea. When Mr. Choi Myung-bae worked for Samsung Electronics, he was sent in the 1980s to Japan
and had access to advanced semiconductor technology. Built on such career and working experience,
he took the lead in growing Exicon into a specialized provider of semiconductor test solutions.
In one of the most inspiring facts in the recent year, Exicon has succeeded in developing
DDR3 (DRAM), LPDDR2 (E-MCP) and NAND Flash (E-MMC) tester and supplying it to
Samsung Electronics, proving its outstanding technology. The company is also carrying out
development of new test equipment for the next-generation device, including DDR4 (DRAM)
and LPDDR3 (E-MCP).
Exicon is aiming to exploit its self-developed test solutions and has successfully launched
own testing service business for Korean domestic market and overseas markets in 2011. Exicon
test service business has achieved the best Qualification award to supply the Test Services for
“HP” Corporation in 2012 and supplying the Test Services for “ADATA,” “HP,” “Dell,” “Sony”
and “Samsung” Corporation and so on for now.
Exicon test service business is expanding its market base through clients’ references on the
company’s technical supports for semiconductor with Exicon own test equipment, especially in
China and Taiwan. Furthermore, through the Brazilian clients, Exicon is also aiming to reach out
to new clients beyond Asian countries toward World-wide.. All of these efforts made a
contribution to boosting exports in 2012.
In the ATE (automatic test equipment) business, Exicon has built a very competitive system in terms
of manufacturing capability, technological innovation and prices, working closely with Korea’s
semiconductor industry. For instance, Exicon is equipped with the superior manufacturing
competiveness through higher compatibility with own developed equipment and competitive
supplying costs. Also, in testing service sector, Exicon has built the innovative system made up of various
modules on the basis of more than 10 years of experience in ATE equipment technology and knowhow.
It has been intensifying efforts to improve Exicon R&D capability by spending more than 30%
of its turnover on R&D investments and by investing in well-qualified human resources in
research and engineering.
