The 2013 Automotive Week, which is now considered as Korea’s biggest exhibition on auto aftermarket, is scheduled to be
held in conjunction with ‘Seoul Motor Show’on March this year.
In an effort to effectively deliver the image of integration, the ‘Automotive Week ‘ will be officially titled the ‘Auto
Aftermarket Special Section’ at the Seoul Motor Show. However, in order to maintain the merit of previous exhibitions,
Organizing committee for Seoul Motor Show is accountable for inviting participants in the field of ‘Complete car’ and ‘Car
parts’ and KINTEX takes the rest, maintenance and tuning, which are included in the ‘Aftermarket’ category.
Cooperation for lifting the reputation and successful holding of Seoul Motor Show is sure to be enhanced. This cooperation
encompasses the joint marketing/business effort and operation to encourage the participation of buyers and visitors.
Particularly, subsidiary events showing the respective characteristic are also agreed to generate the synergy effects of the two.
These two exciting events kick off on Press Day, March 28. Public access is allowed from March 29.
Automotive Week comprises ‘Auto Service Korea’, specializing in maintenance and repair, and ‘The Tuning Show’, tuning,
customization and motor sports exhibition. This event plays a critical role of developing domestic firms’ global business
opportunity facilitating their advance into the world market by holding a special session ‘trade meeting’ with the participation
of strictly selected foreign buyers.
In comparison with last year’s figure, 50,000 visitors, the number this year is expected to skyrocket since it is decided to go
with Seoul Motor Show attracting approximately 1 million visitors. This sharp rise will create various subsidiary activities
‘Drift Demorun’, ‘Special Hall for Leisure Camping Vehicles’, ‘Special ground for Electric vehicle and tryout’, ‘Motor sports
Arena’ in ‘The Tuning Show’ and ‘Maintenance Skill Competition’, ‘Exterior Maintenance Competition’, ‘Special theme ground
for imported vehicle maintenance’ in ‘Auto Service Korea’, respectively.
“This successful merger of the one and only car aftermarket international exhibition ‘Automotive Week’ and domestically
biggest Seoul Motor Show undoubtedly formed a firm and sturdy cornerstone of becoming an internationally renowned
exhibition,” a KINTEX spokesperson said.
