[INQ. NO. E16] The Distribution Automation System (DAS) is a real-time monitoring system on field operation status of distribution facilities such as D/L condition, voltage/current, and problem status acquired from FRTU to provide such information to the central control system through various communication networks, using the most advanced Information technology. DAS helps to minimize the power failure time and sites with a remote control on identifying problem sites quickly for the stable supply of high-quality electricity.
With employing DAS, the on-site operators can take advantage of realizing the economical and efficient operation of distribution systems with distribution automation, minimization of power losses through optimal operation of distribution systems, and avoiding public inconvenience.
KEPA-S (The next generation KEPCO SCADA system)
[INQ. NO. E17] This system-based software was developed for building the next generation KEPCO SCADA system. The IEC61970- based substation operation system and KEPCO¡¯s next generation SCADA standard model are interoperable. KEPCO KDN has secured the core best technology for developing new products optimized for the nextgeneration SCADA system.
With the added intelligent function, the SCADA system monitors, measures, and controls remotely. It employs CIMbased DB and middleware-based OPC-UA. As a web-supported SCADA, it thus provides intelligent service including optimization of failure restoration and assessment of failure.
This technology can easily be adapted to power automation and next-generation SCADA system applications to increase the efficiency of dispatch operations. The development of its power network dispatch operation system in compliance with international standard specifications has increased the company¡¯s international competitiveness and increased its opportunities for applications business.
The new product developed by its in-house technology has created new opportunities for the company to advance into the export market.
