Opening Exhibition for New 2nd KINTEX Venue

Starting as Korea¡¯s first machinery exhibition in 1977, the largest-ever Korea Machinery Fair 2011 (KOMAF) will be held over four days from September 28th to October 1st as the opening exhibition at the 2nd KINTEX venue. This fair is the best ¡°Big Marketplace¡± for achieving demand creation for machinery and export increase; an ideal venue for identifying the latest
trends in domestic/foreign innovative machinery technology, multi-integration, and convergence.

Festival for Korean Machinery Industrialists

As side-events of the fair, various events are planned such as an opening ceremony attended by VIPS, an award ceremony for developers of excellent capital goods, international convergence in the convergence industry, export meetings, plant equipment vendor registration presentations and business meetings, machinery technology seminar, etc. This fair is part of the government¡¯s exhibition promotion policy for early achievement of US$500 billion in Korean exports.
For larger exhibition scale, internationalization, and branding, six exhibitions related to machinery centered around ¡®KOMAF¡¯ and metals, tools, etc. are being integrated as the 1st Korea Industry Fair (KIF).

Participants from 40 Countries, 2,000 Companies, 6,000 Booths, 100,000m2

Under the slogan ¡®Convergence! Above Technology Beyond Boundaries,¡¯ KIF 2011 will be the greatest scale in Korean exhibition history with participation from 40 countries, 2,000 companies, and 6,000 booths, utilizing 100,000©¬¡Ã of space, with the 2nd KINTEX venue being the largest integrated exhibition for industrial products.

Scheduled to be held in the 1st KINTEX venue are the Korea Metal Week (Metal Week), Seoul International Tool Exhibition (Tool Tech), Seoul International Electric Fair (SIEF), Korea International Plastic & Rubber Show (KOPLAS), and Korea International Printing Machinery & Equipment Show (KIPEX) will be held.

Meanwhile, in the newly opening 2nd exhibition venue, KOMAF will display the Convergence Technology Show, New & Renewable Energy / Green Energy Show, and Industrial Plant & Equipment Show, which consists of areas in motion control & factory automation system, metal forming machine, hydraulic technology, research equipment / control & instrumentation / test inspection equipment, transport, cargo & logistics system, foreign country hall, parts & materials, industrial machinery, air-conditioning & refrigeration technology, environment technology, etc.

In particular, this exhibition, which is 2.5 times greater in size than that of the 2009 event, will provide opportunities for global business marketing because it not only stimulates the domestic market, but also expands exports by developing the ¡®Matchmaking Program¡¯ to set up business meetings between influential buyers.

Set to attract 150,000 Domestic Visitors, 5,000 Foreign Buyers

The Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI) revealed that ¡°150,000 domestic visitors and 5,000 foreign buyers will attend this exhibition with an all-time high of US$2 billion worth of business meetings/consultations and US$300 million contract signing expected¡± and ¡°centered around KOMAF, the 1st KIF will be developed to become Northeast Asia¡¯s greatest, like an Asian Hannover Messe.¡±

Surprising Benefit Provided by KOMAF 2011 Shocks the World New Paradigm to Machinery Marketing!

KOMAF, which has developed together with the machinery business and industry, began in 1977 as Korea¡¯s first machinery exhibition and this year is its 18th event as Korea¡¯s leading trade fair specializing in machinery. With a 34-year tradition, KOMAF served a vanguard role for machinery marketing as the machinery industry developed into a trade surplus industry to become a pillar of support for the Korean economy. As part of the government¡¯s ¡®Capital Goods Development Measure¡¯ policy, KOMAF, which is the key exhibition of the 1st Korea Industry Fair, consists of 11 specialized exhibitions for key capital
goods ranging from parts and materials, intermediate goods, assembled goods, finished goods, industrial plant and equipment, energy equipment, etc.

Providing the best business opportunities for participating companies and visitors

Both Korean and foreign innovative machinery technology, multi-integration, and convergence trends can be read. Buyer marketing is supported to connect Korean machinery demand business, purchasing department, and buyers and through matchmaking between foreign buyers and Korean machinery makers, the fair plans to discover influential foreign buyers and
actively support contract signings. KOMAF 2011 is the best ¡°Big Marketplace¡± for achieving demand creation and export increase.

Expanded to KIF by integrating six capital goods fairs

KIF is the largest ever such capital goods exhibition in Korea with 2,000 participating companies, 6,000 booths, and 100,00sq.m of exhibition space. In addition to KOMAF, six industry exhibitions, namely the tool, metal, electricity, printing, rubber, and plastics industry are being integrated for a capacity of 150,000 domestic visitors and 5,000 foreign buyers and the highest business meeting/contract signing results are expected.

Best promotion effect due to VIP participation during opening ceremony and VIP tour to major participating companies

KOMAF 2011, which is to be the opening exhibition of the 2nd KINTEX venue, will be attended by VIPs consisting of influential members from political and business circles to cut the opening ceremony tape. Moreover, they will observe major participating companies, thus offering a perfect opportunity for company promotion. The commercial benefit to participating companies is maximized through extensive media publicity including TV, radio, etc. and it is to be launched as a nationwide event with extensive support by the central government and local governments.

Providing the best key value to participating companies including revolutionary buyer invitation support

About 5,000 invited buyers and dealers, CEO of major clients, and influential buyers are expected to visit the fair. In particular, the Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI) plans to provide opportunities for cost-saving and enhance
effects through self agent/dealer invitations by the exhibition where participating companies are provided foreign buyer
invitation expenses.

In addition to attendance of the fair, invited buyers are provided with industrial tour opportunities and sightseeing tour
programs and additional services for future visits. In addition, various side events including viewing pleasure, business event,
high-level technical seminar, etc. will provided the best opportunities for business.

Contribute to Machinery Demand Creation, Local Economy Revitalization, and Spreading of Korean Wave

Korea Industry Fair has shed its image as a formal machine exhibition and plans to become an exhibition that satisfies the five senses by combining the exhibition with tourism. For connecting tourism to the KIF 2011 to be held from September 28 to October 1, Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI) has signed a MOU with Korea National Tourism Corporation (President Lee Charm), Goyang City (Mayor Choi Seong), KINTEX (President Han Joon-Woo), and related agencies.

This MOU is a part of government¡¯s MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) industry development policy and was executed to increase synergy effects between exhibition and tourism industries by developing travel packages and global level travel services for participating companies and visitors to the ¡®Korea Industry Fair¡¯ which is Korea¡¯s leading industry exhibition to be held as the opening exhibition for 2nd KINTEX venue, top global exhibition candidate.

Also, by providing various ¡®Sights¡¯, ¡®Foods¡¯, and ¡®Entertainment¡¯ side-events to participating companies and domestic/foreign buyers during exhibition period in conjunction with Goyang City, Korea National Tourism Corporation, KINTEX, related local self-government and agencies, KIF will move beyond a trade fair to become a ¡®industry festival¡¯ for industry professionals and the general public.

This MOU will increase the KIF 2011 satisfaction level through development of travel packages and services and by connecting with the tourism industry; it is expected to become an opportunity to upgrade Korea¡¯s MICE industry by another level.

In particular, this MOU will create employment opportunities, revitalize the local economy, and contribute to obtaining foreign
currencies and strive for mutual growth of 21st century pollutionfree convention industry and cultural/tourism areas while raising the local image to become recognized as Korea¡¯s new growth engine.
