Korean Machinery Companies to Unveil Their Cutting-Edge Products at the Hannover Hardware Fair

South Korea’s machinery industry for 2011 is also forecast to steadily grow on the back of the ongoing global demand especially in the emerging countries. In line with the global trend, many of South Korea’s exporters will be facing a steady increase in demand from major foreign markets such as the United States., the EU, China, and other emerging global economies.
In an attempt to broaden the global presence, Korean manufacturers are currently aggressively making inroads into new promising markets, while also concentrating on the conventional export markets while keeping still strong domestic demand.
A senior official of the Korean government was reportedly quoted as saying that the EU market has continuously been growing into a main overseas export counterpart dominating annually nearly 20 percent of the Korea’s machinery exports, adding that approximately 150 domestic manufacturers for this year’s expo are forecast to stage at the coming machinery fair slated to be held from April 4 to 8, in Hannover, Germany. South Korea’s manufacturers are actively joining the worldrenowned exhibition expected to capture various valuable opportunities to effectively strengthen the technological cooperation with globally promising vendors especially with European counterparts, facilitating the reinforcing of European recognition of South Korea’s advanced and competitive technology level in the machinery field, and further aggressively exploring European markets along with the activities of seeking investments in Korea.
It is especially noteworthy that South Korea’s machinery industry production excluding the areas of precision machinery industry and metal products industries during September of last year rose 3.2 percent compared to the same month of last year.
The general machinery among them has ranked No. 1 (10.2 percent) in the race, followed by transportation equipment (3.5 percent), and electric machinery (3.3 percent). Machinery exports for the same period of last year excluding metal products generally rose: electric machinery (24.3 percent), transportation equipment (14.5 percent), general machinery (11.1 percent), and precision machinery (3.9 percent). By region, Europe (25.3 percent) has ranked No. 1 as the most popular trade partner, followed by Central and South America (23.8 percent), Asia (18.1 percent), North America (15.5 percent).
