New Year¡¯s Greetings It is great honor for me to deliver New Year¡¯s greetings to worldwide members of World-OKTA. Welcoming the new year
2010, I wish all our members and their families good health and happiness in the Year of the Tiger.
Last year, we suffered from drastic changes both at home and abroad due to the global economic recession triggered by
the financial crisis in the United States.
Fortunately, the overall global economic conditions have gradually recovered.
At the same time, our mother country Korea has shown faster recovery in national economy than most other countries across the world. It is widely estimated that the nation¡¯s economy will grow by 4.5% in 2010. Behind the optimistic prospects lies the fact that in 2010, Korea¡¯s exports will need to maintain double-digit growth and domestic consumption and investment will continue their stable increase.
In parallel with the bright prospects for Korea in 2010, World-OKTA will endeavor to create an even stronger association for overseas Korean traders.
Until now, World-OKTA has made conspicuous growth on the basis of self-sacrifice and devotion of branch chairmen, executive directors and ordinary members. Bearing this in mind, I will endeavor to invigorate the internal communications within World-OKTA¡¯s
organization, thus promoting the sharing of information among 112 branches in 62 countries. As such, the association¡¯s global network will be reinforced to the maximum,
laying a strong foundation for more dynamic growth in the future.
World-OKTA¡¯s major undertakings are expected to take deeper root in 2010—including the¡¯Next-Generation Trade School,¡¯ ¡®Global Representatives Meeting,¡¯ ¡®World-OKTA Convention,¡¯ ¡®Regional Development Meeting,¡¯ ¡®Overseas Market Exploration Project¡¯ and ¡®KBC Branch Office Project.¡¯
I cordially wish all the members of World-OKTA business success and prosperity and the very best of luck in 2010.
